Welcome Exterra (and shoot for Scope Rings)

I left my magnum in the safe and enjoyed shooting this group with my very first hunting rifle :) circa 1941 Model 99 Savage in 300 Savage, sporting a 2.5x Lyman Alaskan scope and sensing my handloads down range. O the stories it could tell! I took my first Muley buck, bulk elk, and whitetail buck with this rifle! 100 yards, variable 3 o'clock wind. Had to hold one dot low for this distance, picture for reference. Thank you Exterra for supporting the forum and for this excuse to go have some fun!View attachment 1048104View attachment 1048105
Very cool rifle , with a lot of memories. Nice shooting too, that dot covers a lot of the target.

First shots with my Omega 300 can on my Bergara 7 PRC. 10 shots. 3 from me. 3 from my father-in-law. 4 from my brother-in-law.

Definitely need to shoot some more when the weather warms up. Get er' dialed in a little more.
Nice group effort, good to see a family shooting together. How are you liking the Omega 300?

Both targets are with a Tikka 243 Improved. 20" factory Tikka barrel. This is the gun that would be wearing this mount, and likely will eventually one way or the other. Added the 2" extension to a B30, so the zero is a bit low.

116 TMK with two four round pressure ladders, just looking to find pressure and velocity. Both go from 49-50.5 grains of H1000. One was with Alpha brass, one was with Federal. Able to break 3000 fps without unreasonable pressure signs.

Fire forming more Federal brass to test. 40 grains of H100V and a 105 Hybrid.

It definitely takes the noise down to a tolerable level, but she's still got a zing to 'er. I can shoot without muffs though which was a no no before. Recoil suppression seems better than the Bergara Omni brake. Overall, impressed, but it's my first suppressor so I have nothing to compare it to.

Shots in the sled will show accuracy with the can this spring/summer. We just shot off a mineral tub in the back of a sxs yesterday.

did I read this right?
Yes.... But now you have me wanting to shoot both in the same sitting to make sure I simply wasn't imagining it (because I wanted it to be true type of deal).

Statistics say the difference would be what? ~5%-10%? I'd have to reshoot with both to confirm my statement.

Well I’m only as smart as the Rokslide posts I’ve read, but I thought suppressed got you about 30% reduction, but brakes over 50%

I googled it after your question. Bergara states their OD Brake can reduce recoil by up to 35%. SilencerCo states the Omega 300 can reduce recoil by 20-50% (I'm sure these are blanket statements across all calibers). I'll be putting this in the sled anyways in the coming weeks so I'll take a look at this as well. Maybe I am losing my mind :ROFLMAO:

Not my best shooting but great excuse to do some shooting today.

Well, crap @doverpack12 beat me lol

SAKO P94S .22LR
CCI Mini Mag, 40gr/1235fps

50 yds

Used to shoot it a lot but it fell by the wayside with kids & life—so this was a great excuse to break it out, even though I can’t win.

And the old Tasco held zero for a decade but I’m still not gonna drop it @Formidilosus lol

I should’ve known that you would know what that gun was. Saved up for a couple months to buy that when I was about 30. Sweet shooting little gun. Never seems to get dirty either.
