Weird Bullet Impact Stories

I know a guy who shot an elephant with a frontal brain shot with a solid. The bullet exited the head 90 degrees from initial direction of impact.

Had a 215gr Berger hybrid out of my .300 win mag basically grenade on impact at 200 yards on a small antelope doe. It was a rib cage shot no shoulder contact. It just exploded and never made it to the vitals. I head shot it with the second round to end things quick.
Exact same thing happened to a guy in camp on a guided Mule Deer hunt. Shot was between 200 and 300yds. Blew a basket ball size chunk of hair and flesh off the side of the deer (almost perfectly broadside. Had to chase it and put another shot in it....nothing make it inside the deer on the first shot.

Small game and small caliber-. I shot a cottontail rabbit at 30 yards with a 40 grain cci 22 mag round. It was snowy, and the rabbit ran off. I walked to where the rabbit was sitting and found the bullet sitting in the snow along with a few drops of blood. The bullet looked brand new, no deformation at all. How does a rabbit stop a 40 grain projectile that's supposed to be moving 1800 fps or more? I followed the rabbit til it went down a hole, so no further investigation was possible.

My uncle and I where field testing the old barns X on nilgai cows
and he shot one and she ran a short distance , when we walked up
both her lungs where hanging out the exit , never seen the pulmnary tract come out the exit hole

Couple weeks ago I shot a decent sized mule deer with a 200 ELD-X out of a 300WSM @ 352 yards. Perfect broad side, high lung hit. One entrance hole and 3 exits. Bullet must've busted into 3 pretty solid chunks and cleared because we didn't find any chunks of bullet worth talking about.

I had a doe a couple years ago that turned quartering away from me at the last second and I hit her a little far forward with a 156gr Berger going about 2800. Somehow it opened up a 6" hood scoop in the front of her chest and she still ran 100 yds.

I watched my brother shoot a buck with a 30-30. The deer was quartering to us and he shot him back the bullet ricocheted off his pelvis bone and came out the same side near the shoulder. He dropped dead. Pretty crazy.

Couple thoughts on the OP - ELDm's are known to occasionally go poof before reaching the target when the jacket shreds. If it isn't 2 different entrance wounds, I would guess that the exit is just a portion of the bullet and the remainder kept going through.

This is super possible and in hindsight I wished it wasn't hot as hell the day this happened so I could dissect the animal and see. Seeing what the far shoulder impact looks like would be some confirmation. The great/horrible thing about feral hogs where we live is I will have an opportunity the next time I step outside at the ranch.
