Weight of tikka t3 long action

Doing a light weight build and now can't decide if it's worth spending the money on a ti pierce action or just using a tikka action with edge stock,#2 fluted?

Tikka T3 receivers are all the same size - there is a bolt stop. Also worth noting is that Tikka barrels are reverse threaded, so you'll need a pre-threaded barrel or need to find a gunsmith with the right setup to thread it backward.

I can't help you with the Tikka action weight, but for what it's worth at Tikka bolt weighs 10.3 oz. That's actually lighter than a stock Remington short action bolt @ 12.1 oz and significantly lighter than a long action bolt.

Action dia on the Tikka is only 1.2" vs 1.36" for a Remington and has several flats machined in it.

Some difference in the recoil lug weight too.

I'd guess that even a Ti action would have a hard time touching Tikka weight. Could be wrong though. Ti is pretty light stuff.
