Web Dominator - are they all the same?

I was thinking about getting some ITW Web Dominators to tidy up loose webbing on my packs. Since a need a few K clips I was going to order them from Kifaru but they’re $5 EACH! Am I missing something about these? I’ve bought them before from tacticool stores for 50cents to 80cents each. Are the ones from Kifaru somehow better/lighter/stronger? Just wondering if all Web Dominators are the same? $5 seems like an awful lot of $$ just to wrap a strap.

A couple reasons... All Kifaru ITW buckles are US made and the other ones ordered from say Hudson Supplies or probably even Milspec Monkey (not sure) are made in Asia. Also, I don't think that Kifaru really wants to be a buckle store, so they're not going to sell those at a small margin like those that are shipping them out all the time and specializing in buckles. They are however pretty much the only place to get autolock buckles and k-clips so you're SOL on those. It's kinda like buying cables at Best Buy; they aren't trying to be priced competitive there, but if you want you can buy a HDMI cable for $40 there that you could get for $5 on Amazon.

I just use the bulk velcro thats made for cords and cables, I think I got it at Staples maybe. I have had it on 2 packs for a couple years now and its holding up good. Just another option if you arent set on the web domintor specifically.

Yeah, don’t get me wrong. I’m all for US made and I’m not complaining about Kifaru’s prices. I’ve got several buckles in my cart and a bunch of k-clips I use all the time. I have no intention of removing them. I have bought a lot of Kifaru stuff and will continue to. This was not meant as some sort of Kifaru bash thread. I simply wanted to know what the difference was. If I don’t want to pay the extra I won’t and will continue ordering from my previous source. 10x the price does seem a bit high for my needs, though. They must REALLY hate selling those things. Lol!

Agreed, I ordered a bunch from Hudson Supplies myself. Molded plastic is mostly made by machines anyways, so it doesn't matter to me if it's made in the US or not. That being said, Kifaru has to make sure all of their components are made in the US in order to sell to the military. If I were them I have people waiting a month for a pack I would rather be working on getting it out the door than fulfilling a buckle order. All that being said, they give out a lot of free buckles. I'm surprised they even stock web dominators though as they aren't included on any of their packs. In all honesty though, I have found that I prefer the velcro strips that they include over the web dominators.

It's $5 for a 10 pack. Not $5 each. I just got a bunch of extra buckles/webbing velcro and I couldn't find that stuff any cheaper than Kifaru.

Good point, I didn't even look it up. For the velcro that is correct at $5/10. The ITW Web Dominators are actually $2 per. Hudson sells them for $1.09 without the shock cord or $1.99 with, so the same price.

Kifaru's site doesn't update the price until both boxes are selected, so this may have been confusing the OP.

I just bought some of the ITW web dominater's off of ebay. Pack of 10 for $9 shipped. But, after getting and installing them, I prefer the velcro ones Kifaru supplies. God Bless

I don’t have a problem with the Velcro ones, really, but I always seem to lose them. Lol! The Dominator keepers are easy to stick on a PALS or MOLLE or some other strap for quick and easy storage. I’m absent minded and seem to do better with the clips. Plus, they’ve just come in handy at different times for little things.

This is EXACTLY what happened. Lol! I selected “Web Dominator(ea)” and the price stayed at $5. I looked at the description and was looking for some clarification that they were sending a multi pack for that price and....nothing. Since I’m ordering some other stuff I don’t mind paying a few bucks extra for a few of them and 4x what I’ve seen is a lot better than 10x. Still, if everybody is selling “ITW Web Dominators” my suspicion is that they’re ALL made in the same place and are likely the same product whether you’re paying 50¢ or $2. But, when you add shipping and the hassle of 2 orders it’s just as easy to order them along with my other stuff - what I wanted to do in the first place.

Dang, how’d you find that price? I picked the color in the Kifaru store and I saw the $2(ea) price but would love to get that down to 50¢ on my order if it’s possible!

Where have you found them for $0.50? Be careful that they may just be the plastic part and not include the shock cord (which isn't a big deal if you have some laying around). Usually Hudson is the cheapest, but with shipping from Canada it isn't worth it unless you make a bulk order (which I did by teaming up with 4 other guys on here that are local to me).

I apologize for that, they are actually $2/ea after looking again. I must have had the Velcro strips selected instead of the dominators. Those are 10 for $5

I've been using WMD's from Honor Point for about a year now. After I got tired of losing the velcro one-wrap that comes on most packs, I went to Web Dominators. Since I tried the WMDs I replaced the Dominators and bought enough to outfit all my gear.

I paid 60 cents a piece with shock cord from Millspec Monkey but you have to get 50 to get that price and you have to assemble them. Like others I thought all ITW came from the same place so I went for the cheaper price, I wanted to order from Kifaru since I needed autolock buckles but for the price for them and how many straps they have on their packs I went the cheaper route.

I used 50¢ as a rough number. Sorry. They’re 60¢-80¢ at milspec monkey. You have to go through the hassle of “assembly” to get that price.....but even my kids know how to tie a half-knot! Lol. It’s a pretty good deal and they have great deals on buckles and other stuff. Still, I order stuff from Kifaru just to support them; but if I was ordering a BUNCH of buckles or something else from MSM anyway, I’d save a few bucks. They’re a good company also - saving lots of soldiers a lot of money on the things they sell.

Boy, this thread turned into a lot more than I expected when I asked my original question - a simple one, I thought! Lol!

Those DO look great! Maybe I’ll try some of those before I buy some more Web Dominators. Thanks for posting them!
