I have 3 Bergaras. All shoot really well. 6.5prc and 300 win mag and 22lr. My most recent one is a b14 Wilderness Sierra in 300 win mag. It quickly became my favorite rifle. Ive had 0 issues with my bergaras. No matter the gunmaker you are always going to find people that have had a bad apple. Both rifles you are interested in are great rifles in my opinion. I would definitely lean towards the 7PRC like you said. Ammo availability is much better. Main reason I went with 300 win.

I have a Weatherby backcountry guide in 280AI. I love this rifle. I really do wish it were a 1:8” twist like the savage/carbon6 I put together. The weatherby is over 2# lighter than the savage though and I just shoot 162 ELDX rather than 175 ELDX.
Another big difference other than weight is the weatherby will hold 5 cartridges in the magazine. If you don’t hand load I would consider the 7PRC though but in the mark 5 that moves you to the 9 lug action and adds one pound. I can’t comment on the Bergara. I’ve only shot one in the Ridge HMR guise and I didn’t shoot it enough to comment on the reliability.
