Weatherby Muzzleloader

The local gun store had one today when I stopped in.It is a lot lighter than I expected. It felt good in the hands and would be perfect shooting off a bipod.2500.00 is a lot of money for a muzzleloader but I am impressed with the fit and finish.

Tracker12 I understand what you are saying but people pay a lot of money for things they don't need.I see people all the time with jacked up 4x4 4 door jeeps that never get off the hwy.To each their own I guess.

Alright, one of the CVA Paramount Pro owners who is supposed to stop using his rifle. Have a New Mexico elk hunt in October and need to find a replacement soon. CVA hasn't returned emails or answered the phone. Been on hold or in que for days. Is this worth the extra $ to get it in hand to zero and practice or wait to maybe find out and answer from CVA?

The Weatherby would be twice the rifle any CVA is. But you could say that for a number of options…..

Looking for other options, love to hear a few suggestions. Talked to Arrowhead, have two that will be built and ready in three weeks. Carbon fiber but price tag is over 7k. Spoke to McWhorter, again have a few on the shelf, closer to 6k. I hunt mzl season in Virginia every year. Have consistent shots available out to 300yds so there could be long term good use. 2-3K is about max spend I think.
I appreciate it.

Uhh…no….lol
Yes buy a CVA V3 takedown in a 45/70
and send it to Jeff Hankins. I have two and they shoot lights out. 250gr bullet 2750 fps.
He will even set it up for open sites. $1000 you can’t beat them.

Thank you. I’ll reach out. Curious if he could meet the timeline. Hoping to have hands on in a couple weeks in order to get enough range time with it.

Just about any decent modern inline with the right load is good to 300 yards…

But for the money I’d look at Woodman Arms. No reason to send more than $1000 ish dollars unless you’re shooting 600+ yards.
