Seems like a lot of you have your clothing systems dialed in pretty well for mountain hunts. I’m looking for a little help with my waterfowl system.
I hunt September teal when it’s 70+ til January when it can be below 0. Right now pretty much all my gear is Sitka. Core LW shirt, grinder hoodie, gradient hoody, duck oven jacket, Delta jacket. Bottoms are core mid or heavy bottoms and gradient wader pants.
Biggest problem I have now is I get too hot while walking in (I’ve got uninsulated waders, but depending on the water/air temp have to wear some insulation under them). Then I’ll get cold waiting on the sun to come up after I get all sweaty walking in.
They’re also bulky and heavy.
I don’t know that there are better options for waterfowl that are durable as I’d want them to be, but thought I’d ask.
I’m debating getting an ambient jacket since they’re supposed to breathe while working. Have also debated a jet stream to cut wind and avoid having to use duck oven or Delta jacket.
Any suggestions?
