I’ve had great luck with the leather collar from Gun Dog Supply for waterfowl, upland and everyday use. I do keep it oiled with a good leather saddle oil every 4 to 6 months. As others have mentioned, the engraved brass tag is a no brainer no matter what material the collar is.
