Waterfowl 2021

Early season for goose has started for us up here. With no big game tags this year and waterfowl being my true passion and a new puppy I think it’s going to be a really good year.

We start 9/1. White Fronts and cranes are arriving now. I'm hoping some barley fields get harvested soon so they have a place to feed and hang around.

We don’t get rolling until October. Pretty jealous of the field set up. In 30 plus years I’ve only hunted water. It’d be nice to not wear waders for a change.

If our moose hunt takes a turn for the worst for some reason we will be hunting with bob hoping for some cranes and specks!

Got after them pretty good this morning. Rookie mistake for a rag to dry decoys and dew made them shine had a bunch flair of just out of range.

Heck no, we don't use a dog early season.


That's just that 4 ounces of heavi hitting them doing work!!

When you making piles a dog can't keep up.

Got 47 today first time running just the dive bombs and they made a believer out of a couple guys that were pretty skeptical. Banks was wore out after getting 40 of them with a few long ones.

Went out Sunday evening found a small feed in a chopped corn field with a strip of standing corn. Still getting the dive bombs figured out so most of them short stopped us but we scratched a few out. The dog is hopping that was out last 80 degree day haha he was wore out after a couple sailed on us.

Got on a few this nice hot weather isn’t helping anything.

Teal Hunters been after it hard down here on Mobile Bay.
Never seen so many in the early season.
