Water filter system for below freezing conditions?

I shake out my Sawyer really good and put it in a ziplock. Then put in a jacket pocket or pants pocket. A little body heat seems to keep it thawed. At night I put it in my sleeping bag. Never had an issue. Aqua mira would be another option. I have used it to around 15 out with no issues.

most pump style filters like the Katadyn Hiker pro are fine in cold temps.

The Msr guardian is $350. I feel like you could by a Steripen and way more batteries then you will ever need for that much.
