What part of Washington? I relocated here from Colorado. You will have distinctly different experiences depending on which side of the state you are on. Are you only looking to hunt elk? Feel free to PM me and I can go into more detail on everything

As others have said, it sucks man. The eastern part of the state seems great, but we still have to live under the law of the lunatic left west of the Cascades. Washington was the only state in the U.S. to get more blue last election cycle, and the only counties whose vote matters are near Seattle.

The hunting used to be phenomenal, I’d say the most underrated western state 20+ years ago. Since then they have intentionally destroyed it, all in a long game to eliminate hunting. Hunters rights are chipped away every single year.

If you absolutely must move to this hell hole, stay east of the cascades and get very good with a foxpro and varmint rifle. It’s the most action packed hunting you can find in WA (outside of bird hunting).

There was a article in the Lewiston Tribune on 12/15 copy of Spokane article. I will try to attach but the short answer is that even the State of washington sees how useless their Fish and Game board is. They spent $300,000 to have Ruckelhaus Center point out the obvious.

here is the best I can do.

Not no but f@#k no! I’ve lived here 52 years and can’t leave. If it weren’t for out of state tags I likely wouldn’t deer and elk hunt. Only things I really hunt in WA are predators and ducks.
