Simple question - would you buy a warranty on a used truck purchase? As I mentioned in another thread, I recently purchased a 2017 F150 XLT 2.7, 6 speed 4x4 with 62,000 miles on it for my son. Super clean vehicle with a clean Carfax and one owner. Had a mechanic look it over before he purchased it, and the only thing he mentioned was it may be a good idea for preventative fluid changes and sparkplugs at 100k.
I have the ability to buy an extended warranty through the local ford dealer, their ford platinum warranty, which would cover four years or 48,000 miles and it’s like $4200. Do you think it would be worth it?
Part of the reason I bought a 17 with the 2.7 and the six speed was that seemed to be the most reliable combo on used Fords and I’m not sure if the warranty is really worth it.
