It crossed my mind that if I was to spray a touch of silicon spray onto the joints of my pan head, I could improve the smoothness, (nothing wrong with it in the first place).

I sprayed a little on and hey presto, it instantly seized solid!, when I used more pressure and moved it, it grated 'really' badly.

Took it apart, cleaned and re greased it and that cured it. Thankfully it was not an expensive head.

You all probably know this, but for those that may not and have a Brain Fart like I did, 'don't' do it!
