Any of you guys tried a 115 Berger in a 7.5 twist? They call for a 7 minimum.

I haven’t shot any yet. Still waiting to get my barrel back from my smith. I haven’t seen much for reports yet either

I loaded up some 116 TMK, 112 MB and 115 DTAC over some N570. I’ll post results as soon as I get my barrel back. I’m a little low on powder charge as I am loading for magazine feed from a short action with binder plate. I may try some H1000 or H4831 if results aren’t satisfactory

Well I decided to get one of the PBB tikka 80% barrels they are doing now in 6prc 7.5” twist 20”. Had them open the throat slightly to 0.180”. Should have it in two weeks or so and will start playing with the 107tmk waiting on the 116 tmk to come instock

I loaded 116’s with 565 and 4831sc,

58-60 and 56-57 grains.

The 60 grain 565 was right at 3100fps with 5.9SD over 5 shots group wasn’t great however.

The 57 grains of 4831sc was right at 2996 with 25 SD and was a great group.

I think for other people’s rifles you are going to see a noticeable difference as I have a very large FB from what I can calculate.

My base to ogive measurement touching lands is ~2.428 with the TMK and 2.327 gets me in a SA mag.

My eldm with 565 at 60 and 60.5 group great and we’re in that 3120-3150 range so I’ll probably load up 50 and zero and confirm on those and tinker with the 116’s and 565 or more 4831sc.

20” 7.5 twist PBB . Had a smith add freebore from .140 and think I got a bit more then I hoped with my dummy rounds….

I am also thinking about some N560 and N570.

N560 shows speed promise with slightly less powder on 6.5’s

I haven’t had any pressure signs but I know I’m up there for loads in charge weight.

Anyone tried N560?
