Warmest Kuiu Mid Layer

I’m looking for recommendations on a Kuiu mid layer top that is really warm. I have a Pro Merino 200 base layer and the Guide DCS outer shell. I’m wanting a really warm mid layer suggestion. Right now I do mostly stand hunting for white tails but I’m building my system to Elk hunt someday. Thoughts on the Kenai or the Super Down LT? Would the Super Down LT be super loud even under the Guide? How bad does the Kenai pill? Thank you. Also open to other options such as the Strongfleece or Peloton.

I have the Kenai hooded jacket, and it's warm and has held up really well. I also have the Strong Fleece 260, and it is ridiculously warm—almost too warm for me. I would buy the Kenai again, but not the Strong Fleece.

I really like the Kenai jacket. It will pill moderately under a bino harness or pack shoulder straps. It's more of an active insulation piece. I often wear mine under a softshell/rain shell, but it's definitely not going to be as warm as a dedicated puffy.

My hunting partner wears the super down, I do not believe it would be noticeably noisy under your guide jacket.

I had and sold the 240 it's probably a great item for the right fit. For me, it was super tight on the forearms, snug if the shoulders, and felt short. Definitely cut the wind while retaining some breathability and was plenty quiet for bowhunting. I could only wear a T-shirt under it.

I like the Peloton 200 but the Strongfleece 260/280 would work if you're not hiking in it and putting it on later. I'm not a fan of the super down at all, sold the ones I bought, same for the Kenai jacket but I do like my Kenai vests. The jacket just fit me really awkwardly.

Only used it for a weekend hunt but really like my strongfleece 235 so far. weather was colder than forecasted and I spent a lot of time in it.

As with all Kuiu clothing items, I went a size up and found the fit to be comfortable shooting a bow. Though I tuck the collar under my bino harness to keep it out of the way when not fully zipped up.

I bought the wind pro fleece full zip early this year for just this reason.
I sat on the east side of a very large ag field this weekend with 12-15 mph gusts of wind from the west and in the 40s with just this top on over my merino base layer, and it was pretty wind proof and warm.
I put my jacket on as the sun set and temps dropped even more and it kept me comfortably warm until I left my stand

I have the Kenai and Strongfleece 260. I love the Kenai and wear it all the time. It is extremely comfortable and lightweight. It is really warm considering how light it is. I like it so much that I bought a second one in a solid color to wear every day. It is versatile as you can use it as a mid layer or outer layer. It also can be balled up and fit easily into your pack.

Kenai would be the warmest. I like the Sitka Ambient much better though personally

I have the super down LT and it definitely is still noisy underneath your outer layer. I don’t know if it would be loud enough to spook a whitetail while bow hunting, but it definitely isn’t dead quiet like the encounter and proximity jacket I wear when bow hunting. I also have the full zip strong fleece 275. I absolutely love it as a mid layer.

What do you like better about the ambient and what ambient are you comparing to as it comes in many weights
I have the 150 Ambient so it's not as warm. I imagine the 200 ambient is closer in warmth. The Ambient 150 breathes better, has a more durable face, fits better, more stretch and is still pretty warm for what it is.

Bought the kenai and its worth the money as super light for te warmth it provides. Also use the Strong Fleece hoodie for hiking around but i think the kenai is a better mid layer.
