A tikka t3x is under 7 lbs, comes in those rounds, and is thread....for $750. Thing will shoot better than you can.

For that budget you can snag a Tikka of some sort, SWFA optic and an Olin SonicCore over the barrel suppressor.

I bought a Bergara Canyon a month ago in 6.5 PRC. Cerakoted stainless action & barrel, AG Composite stocks, Trigger Tech trigger, 6 lbs 2 ozs, & it's a shooting SOB.

How do you like the traditional stock setup? I have one and thinking to either add arca or go to a lightweight chassis.

I liked it, but I liked my McMillan Edge Classic better, so I sold the AG.

After five pages and almost six months of this thread, has anyone noticed that the original poster hasn't commented or responded in any way since the day he made the original post?

7mm-08 or 308, you ask? Either will do the job. I own both and I love them equally.

Rifle under $1,500, you ask? Tikka T3x (of course, duh!), Browning X-Bolt, Bergara, Howa, Savage, Ruger...whatever. Just get the one with the features you like that fits within your budget. Spend more money on a scope, suppressor, ammo, etc.

Of course, the OP is never going to read this anyhow.
