I got a new to me 12x14 wall tent for base/truck camping. Now I need to get a stove for it.

I've always had a tipi style tent and know nothing about wall tent stoves. Other than that they'll keep burning better than a backpacking stove.

I'd definitely like something I can cook on. Other than that I haven't a clue on brands and sizes. I've been keeping an eye out for them on marketplace.

Also is there any affordable floor options? My buddy sent me a link to one that was $350. I thought about finding some carpet scraps but that could be hard to clean.

Thanks

I've been using a Kni Co tundra for several years in a 10x12 wall tent. It's a take down model and gets a little of shape from the heat but still goes together fairly quickly. It's flat top so you can cook or make coffee on it.

Are there any pellet stoves that aren't $800? It'd be super nice to just load up a pallet of pellets at Home Depot vs cutting and splitting wood. Or even a dual
Fuel stove. I see Riley has one but dang $800 is a bit much.

I had a Four Dog, the 2 Dog or Little Dog model. It was a great little stove. The claim that it will heat a 10'x12' wall tent at -30 is a bit of an exaggeration. It heated our 10x10 (4' wall) at 12F adequately to be comfortable sitting around in our capotes on chairs. Below chair level it was very cold. It did much better in our 10x10 wedge. I used it in an uninsulated 10x14 plywood cabin for years and it would drive you out.

You could cook on the top with a skillet or put a dutch oven on it and it would have a pot of stew or chilli boiling in no time. It didn't matter that the dutch oven had legs. With a good fire there would be a 6-8" red hot circle on the stove top in front of the stove pipe.

What are thoughts for a bigger tent? I have a 4 dog. It heats my 12x14 just fine, but never lasts close to overnight with wood commonly found in the west. We just got a 16x20 tent. I’d imagine we could work it pretty hard and get the tent warm but does anyone have any thoughts on something bigger?

Do you have a steel model 4 Dog stove or titanium one?

Steel. I’ve replaced the gasket too. I’m likely spoiled living in Wisconsin burning well seasoned hardwoods. My friends use the barrel stove with a flat section for cooking but that barely lasts through the night but that doesn’t choke down very well.

Vevor suprisingly makes a great stove. I have a few pictures of mine if you'd like to see it.

Got mine for $120 from home depot. Added gasket to the door and sealed a few small areas a little better. No problem getting 6-7 hours of warmth in a 12×12 Alaknak

If you are truck camping. The rubber vinyl trucker tarps work great. That’s what I use in my big wall tent

Tractor supply store tarps heavy duty hold up well been using one in a wall tent for years easy to clean also if you then wish a section of the green indoor outdoor carpet for under the cots also it helps if you put down a plastic tarp before the flooring tarp its especially nice if your wall tent has a sod or dew cloth edge to place between the plastic tarp and the canvas tarp floor. As to stoves I use a big buddy heater .

I have a camp chef. The stove door needs a gasket and the stove pipe was terrible and required a lot of bending to fit and I now tape the pieces together with high temp foil tape.

I survived an early season rifle hunt with it and a 35 degree bag. I burnt through a lot of wood and woke up freezing. But I also was burning soft wood.

Get a tarp to fit your tent footprint but get one that is about 14-16 mil and you will get several years out of it. Sweep it out regularly to maintain life. As for stoves, check out the GStove which is made in Norway. They make a regular and xlarge size. They are stainless steel (you can stand on them), cylinder shape, have all kinds of accessories/attachments like clothes dryer, oven water tank, etc. You won't find better quality at a price that is very competitive with any of the lightweight and very fragile titanium stoves. Plus the GStove is close to airtight and will hold a fire for a few hours. Total weight of the standard size with pipe nestled inside is 22 lbs.
