I built one similar to the clary stove. They are a pretty simple design. I used it in Idaho one year in really cold weather and it kept a 12 x 14 wall tent very comfortable. The best part about it was picking up bags of pellets when I got there and not needing to deal with firewood. If I remember correctly it would burn about 8 hours on a bag. One issue I had was I didn’t make the openings in the burn basket large enough for the ash to clear itself. It would run well for about 4 hours and then needed cleaned. These types of stoves will put out a lot Of heat but cannot really Be choked down like a wood stove. The hard draft in these is needed to function right (this is what i encountered anyway). I ended up going to a Cabela’s Alaskan tent and electric heat or Mr heater so I never finished the new basket for the pellet stove.
