Just a heads up for those of us in WA. WDFW is running a public scoping survey for the ’27-’29 season setting processhttps://engage.wdfw.wa.gov/2027-2029huntingseasonsetting. I think this is a good opportunity to demonstrate (again) that demand for a spring bear hunt remains very high.
Also (warning-don’t go to this link if you have high blood pressure), Washington Wildlife First has a petition going to remove WDFW Director Susewind: https://wawildlifefirst.org/not-my-wdfw/. I don’t know what the best response is, but I plan to write my state Rep’s and the Governor expressing my support for Director Susewind. He’s done a great job with the hand he’s been dealt, and Washington would be a worse place without him at the helm of WDFW.
