Anyone know the exact spec length for VXR 31.5 ATA? What do you think of this?

Exact spec is 31.5 but you're within tolerance at just a touch over. If it is at the correct draw weight and length (measured using a draw board) and has no issues as far as tuning is concerned, I wouldn't mess with it. If it bothers you, you can add twists to your cable to shorten the ATA length but you'll have to re-check all the other specs if you do so.

Yeah I just got it back and my old arrow doesn't fit anymore so I'm assuming it's long. Do you measure draw length from throat of the grip to nocking point?

What do you mean by got it back? Also what do you mean by arrow doesn't fit?

DL is usually measured from the throat of the grip to the valley of the nock.

Axle to axle doesn't mean a thing unless you plan to shoot the bow at the exact draw length, cam rotation, and poundage as when the engineer designed it.

So should I be shooting for a certain poundage? I believe poundage was 75(never checked) before, now I'm at 69 if the chain scale at my shop is on

Your poundage should match the weight stamped on your mods (within reason. a little above or below is normal). I've seen some shops unscrew limb bolts to get to a lower poundage rather than installing the correct mods and leaving the bolts alone. It's a half-assed way to get to the same end.

If you truly have 75 pound mods and your limb bolts are all the way in then something is not right if you are only drawing 69lb. Being a pinch over on ATA wouldn't account for 6 pounds of draw weight loss...I don't think.

BTW, I do not own a VXR but I do own a Vertix and have worked on many different bows in my home shop. If you want, feel free to shoot me a PM and we can discuss things.

Zac did you get new strings put on, draw length changed... New strings often result in the issues you are seeing. Also some pro shops cheat and play with stings to get a certain draw length, this affects draw weight.

Crank the limb bolts to the bottom, the weight should match the what the module says on it within a pound or two, KineKilla is right on. If it's way off I would adjust the twists in cables or main draw string, sometimes both. Again this affects cam timing, draw length and weight so it should be done by someone who knows what they are doing.

Report back with your findings and we should be able to give you some direction.

Throat if nock the deepest point if the grip + 1 3/4" if memory serves.

Yeah got Gas Ghost strings and had nose button put on. I had horrible peep rotation so I tried fixing it with the string. I lost tension somewhere by turning the string. Took it back to the shop and the nose button is still off my nose and draw weight is low. Also I have 70 lb mods, however the shop said the new string added 5 due to thicker serving around the cams.

New strings should not have added 5lbs due to them being thicker. Sounds like a load to me. Drawing 69/70 lbs isn't too far out of spec if all other measurements are good. It almost sounds like you need to go back to square 1 and re-adjust/tune the bow to get it fitting you better. Your shop should be able to do this without much trouble and if they cannot I'd look for a different shop.

When I install strings I usually shoot the bow without a peep 30-50 times to "set" the string. Then, I set the peep height for the shooter, adjust the rotation by moving either the bottom or top of the string in the proper direction. Doesn't usually take more than a half twist here and there to get it straight without any rotation at all.

I haven't installed Gas strings but I've heard they are decent build quality. You shouldn't have needed too much tweaking to get everything lined up just right. If you untwisted the string to fix rotation you likely loosened them too far, lowered your DW and caused some DL issues all at the same time. When adjusting strings for rotation, I like to tighten the twist rather than loosen it if at all possible.
