Vortex vultures in 2026

So I’ve been debating expanding my glassing setup and adding in some 15s. There are a pair of vultures locally on marketplace for $200. For reference my chest binos are razor UHD 8x42, and spotter is a Nikon ed iii. I feel like a pair of 15s would sit well in that but I am not sure if the vultures would fit the bill. With the current offerings what would you get? And at that price do you think they’re worth it?

I had a pair of those things for a few years and I never could get a clear picture out of them. I have 20/15 vision and my other binos were Zeiss conquest hd 8x’s so it’s not like I was comparing them to NL Pures

The UHD razors are nearly alpha tier stuff and the Nikon scope is as well. I’d hate to spend much money on a pair and even more carry them around thinking the whole time and not be pleased

I’d save your money man. I never even tried packing mine, I tried using them for summer scouting mule deer and was never happy

I used some this season for a few days while hunting mule deer. It was very hard to keep in focus as I scanned and my eyes were hurting after 30 minutes each time I used them.

I kept going back to my 8.5x EL and I really don’t think I was gaining any additional level of detail. I returned them as soon as I got home.

Robby Denning has a few really good reviews on the vultures here on rokslide. I agree with pretty much everything he said, though I think the image quality is worse than he portrays.

My search for a budget friendly high power binocular continues as well. I’d recommend passing on the vultures and stick with your razors

You wont come close to those without spending atleast 3x more. If 200 is your budget then get them and dont look back. They are fine for finding deer out to a couple miles.

If your budget is $700 get a used pair of Kaibabs. They are almost as good as razor glass and i can easily see deer at 3-5 miles. Youll want a tripod to get the most of 15x regardless.

A pair of 12x50 vipers is much lighter and a lot better glass if you just wanting to look for deer around a mile or so i would go with those for sure.

Of course the cel camera does not do the glass justice but its a much better demonstration than just talking about glass.
