I have owned both in 12x50 ( latest made in China versions). I definitely noticed an improved view in the viper over the Db. Sweet spot was much bigger and edge to edge brightness was noticeably better in the viper. Also control of CA was a lot better in the viper.
Field of view is a bit bigger as well but you may not notice it. It’s about twice the price so you have to decide if it’s worth it. For me it was.

I own the japan vipers and it was a huuuuuge jump in clarity and low light level performance

I have the Viper HD 6x32 (Japan) and the Diamondback in 8x32. There is a huge difference in the glass quality. I tried the Viper HD 8x32 but went with the 6x32 for a deep woods glass since i already have another 8x32 which beats the Viper HD (Cabelas Euro HD 8x32).
