Vortex Viper spotting scope

Ram just to qualify your comparison was the viper a gen 1 or 2? I had a gen 1 that was replaced and the gen 2 is significantly better.

This was a Gen 1 80mm HD. I haven't had the chance to look through the new model as of yet.

After doing that comparison it was an easy decision for me. I sold the Viper for more than I paid for the new Ares and saved nearly 2 pounds and free'd up a bunch of space in my pack. That Viper served me well though while I had it, never had any issues.

Good to know. Can you PM me where you got the Ares? I can't find any on our side of the border.
