Anyone have experience with Vortex Talon HD binos? I’d like to hear some thoughts and reviews, thanks!

They are an older design. The new Meopta Optika6 8x42 and 10x42 should start shipping this week. $299.99 and a great optic for that price. Worth checking into

I have had a pair of the talon HDs for about 5-6 years and I like them for my hunting needs. I use them hunting WT, varmints, and hogs in Texas and Oklahoma and relatively short ranges of 50-400 yards, but have watched animals out past 800 yards without a tripod/rest and closer to 1100-1200 yards when resting on the blind window opening. Good clarity around the edges, easy on the eyes, and very functional. However, I am sure there are better options out there now. Have not had any warranty issues or problems with the binos.

I used some 10x42 talons for about 4 years with zero issues. At the time I think they were one of the best in their price range. My buddy had some swaro 10x42s and he could glass an extra 20 minutes beyond me, but for 2000 bucks more. I think they're a great bino for the price, but I might look into those optika6's unless you can get a smoking deal on the talons. PS. They're now my wifes binos. Hope this helps

I have a pair of 8x42’s they are a nice Bino for the money. I wanted to try a bridge type before buying some swaro EL’s. Found a pair of used EL’s the following year and gave the talons to my wife.

I have the 10x40's and they have been great.
My friends daughter has the 8's and they are also great.
I think they were one of the few times Vortex screwed up and made some really exceptional glass in a way lower price point than they usually run.
