Looking to get a new binos for next season and am torn between these two. My primary set I’m using now is UHDs 10-42s and just want another set with a little more power. What are the pros and cons of each from those who have used them in the field?

If your plan for them is putting them in a tripod and spending a lot of time picking stuff apart then I’d go with the 18’s. The image quality of the sigs isn’t going to be comparable to the Razors if they are both mounted in a tripod. If your always moving and don’t plan on long glassing sessions the SIG’s might be a better option.

Personally the only time I would use the sig is for quick looks, so I’d probably just buy the small 10x ones with the larger FOV. To me the sig seems it would be tougher to find animals in. They have the same FOV only the 18x has more magnification and better glass so with the edge distortion on the sig your losing slightly more FOV with less zoom. To me a larger FOV and more mag is a win win.

I have Maven 15's and my buddy runs the new Swaro 14 NLs. Like said above, I'd take both over the Sigs if sitting in one area for hours glassing. However, I rarely hunt that way and always seem to be moving. For that reason I have zero desire to buy alpha glass or a spotter. My Sig 16HDXs are good out to a mile, mile and a half hand held.

What's your hunting style?

Yeah I’m pretty mobile also. Definitely glassing a mile and in 90% of the time. You like the 16s?

I love them. Just bought 10's too but not as much time behind them.

Just stay away from the garbage new Pro models that came out. Look up my threads on those.

Which Zeiss? Better than the 18-56 UHDs?
I had the conquest hd 15x56. Paired them with a swaro 10x and it was a money combo. I cannot say better or worse than the UHD’s as I’ve never owned the 18s but I will say you can generally find the zeiss’s for a damn good price (I look for open box demos) I only sold mine cause instead of a 10 and 15 I went with the 12x42 nl pure.
The color contrast is exactly how I like it on the 15s the build quality of zeiss is top notch. Find yourself a gently used or demo pair and you will love them

Euro optic has a pair for 1350. They are the previous model but the same ones I was running. The new hdx came out in 24

No, the Zeiss, Swaro and Meoptas are all very good 15’s each has a slightly different color tone. A lot of people have sold them all and purchased the 18 Razor UHD for the extra mag and comparable glass. I’ve never used the 18’s but people who have hold them in high regard, there really isn’t much to compete with them at 18x. My 15x Meostars outperformed my buddy’s NL12’s in some situations due to the magnification, like telling the difference between a branch bull and then telling how many points. Same would be true for the 18’s, in some places the mag will outperform slightly better glass but you’re also sacrificing FOV. Personally I sold my Meoptas and went with NL14’s kind of the best of all worlds but your paying a premium for it.

It’s always hard comparing glass when different magnification comes into play. I love my 12x pures but there’s definitely been a few times if I had my 15s I wouldn’t need to switch over to a spotter. You loving the 14x pures?

They just showed up today. Excited to use them, I loved my 15 Meostars and these are way better!

I have the 16x42s Zulu 6 and also the 18x56 uhd
If your tripod game is strong, the 18s all day. The glass is better in the UHD. The Zulus are less optically but the stability system makes up for it by far. 16's, believe it or not, are easily used from the harness for off hand glassing. They are amazing. They became my primary optic this last season and I sold the 18s. I regret selling the 18s but probably only until I upgrade to the Zulu 6 pros.

I am also selling the zulu 6's currently to upgrade to the pros.

Go buy a pair (or three like I did) from Cabelas or Sportsmans while you still have your non-pro 16's. My guess is that you'll find that the resolution is better on the 16's. The stability is better. They are $600 cheaper. They are lighter. They are smaller. The only benefit I could see is the low light performance, so that's a whole lot to sacrifice for 60 sec of improvement at each end of the day, with degraded performance all around the rest of the day.

I really like the stabilized glass but they do lack compared to better glass on a tripod.

I have some Nikon 16x56's I am putting up for sale if you are interested. A lot of bang for your buck with those.
