I came across a good deal online for a brand new set of the 10x42 Vortex Razor UHD Bino's with the Vortex Glasspak Pro harness for $1,150 total including taxes and shipping. I'm not very knowledgeable about binoculars or glass but for around the $1,000 price point a lot of people seemed really happy with these binoculars, and I'm in the process of building out my first western elk kit from scratch basically so I'm balancing price on a lot of things. Is $1,150 out the door for the binoculars and a Vortex binocular harness a good deal, or look at other options? Thanks!

And yes I've been scanning through the classifieds every day for gear, including binoculars.

I have the 8x42 UHDs and they're great. I haven't looked through the other top name brands but I'm honestly not sure what I'd be missing with the UHDs. I had a pair of 10x razors and the UHDs are noticeably better. I got them for hunting and they are a little heavy but having them up in the tree bow hunting has been awesome toward late evening.

I just bought a pair and I am very happy with the glass but I haven't looked Thur anything in the higher price point. I wouldn't get your hopes up on the harness however. It's very bulky. I was hoping to give it to my kid but I decided to buy him a eberlestock recon harness like I have. It's a way better setup.

I've bought 2 pairs of Vortex Razor HD 10x42 Binos from Sierra. First one was in great shape, appeared brand new. The 2nd also appeared brand new, but the diopter had come loose. Sent it back to Vortex, repaired and returned pretty quick.

Warranty 100% applies to any Vortex product you buy, no matter how you get it. They told me about Sierra and another site, confirming warranty is valid.

100% recommend buying from Sierra to save a couple bucks, I had been eyeing the UHD's as well haha

If you have a sierra local, it’s risk free. If they aren’t dang near perfect just return them for what you paid.

If anything happens to them send them back to vortex and they will make them right.

Safest optic purchase out there imo…..

Update,

I received my 18x56. Shipping was fairly fast (less than a week). Binos are in perfect condition. I called Vortex and was told anything that needed to be refurbished gets done through them directly. With the VIP warranty behind the product I would recommend saving the money and buying them through Sierra.
