I am just curious here and I know I am going to get some stones thrown at me here......but why are there constantly so many vortex spotting scopes in the classifieds? Do they just sell that many more than the competition? Or are guys buying them expecting more than what they actually get and decide they want the top shelf option instead? I only ask as I keep weighing which one to buy myself. I have nothing against any brand.....

A bit of both cases, in my opinion. They marketed themselves real well to the value shoppers the last ~5 yrs. They built a good reputation then cranked out a ton of products.

I have one in classifieds, great scopes, I knew exactly what I was getting when I purchased. Hadn’t done a ton of glassing style hunting when purchased and didn’t know how a spotting scope would fit into my style of hunting so didn't want to go straight for alpha glass. I’m in the process of upgrading all my optics, it’s the last piece of the puzzle, but was not disappointed in it at all, great value.

Some times people sell to buy other stuff and i think selling a scope is much harder than letting a spotting scope go. i have a Swaro Bino and i love it, no selling anytime soon.

Own a Razor 11-33x50 and it is a nice scope. I have no plans to upgrade any time soon.

A lot of guys buy things sight unseen, without testing or trying - then someone tells em what they have (and are happy with) is junk, that they need to upgrade - and they do.

Just my opinion but they a billion "PRO" staff that are constantly selling thier products off. It really hurts the resell for the average user especially if they didn't get a great deal. I wouldn't ever pay full price for vortex thier isn't a product they sell that isn't for sale open box at 40% of retail.

I run a 27-60x85 Razor HD gen 2 and for the money I don’t think you can beat it. I was just watching deer this morning before legal light at 100 yards without a problem. It isn’t a swaro nor should anyone tell you different. It is killer glass for the price tag associated with it though.

I think it’s because they realize there’s better options out there than Vortex. I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard guys say that.

I think people watch MeatEater or solohunter and think they need one. Then, they realize they dropped some coin for something they don’t use often. I’ve done it as well. Then there’s the upgrading crowd.

Yup I think these 2 crowds make up a LOT of optic sales on the classifieds.
Don’t use their nice stuff and want the cash
Use it as a jumping stone for alpha glass

I still think those guys pack swaro or leica glass then throw up the vortex when the camera's around for the money shots haha.
