The single hinge are newer, shorter, lighter, and of different optical design.

Pre 2012 vs post 2012 I believe. Open bridge(dual hinge) is pre 2012 and closed bridge(single hinge) is post 2012. The post 2012 razor is much better glass to my eyes than the first edition razor.
