I've been thinking about upgrading from my Nikon 13x33 spotter to something with more power but don't have anywhere to try out a Vortex. It would be used at the range, groundhog hunting but my occasional western hunt is my main concern. I want to stay in a mid weight range for packing. I just can't justify spending the money for one of the big 3 models and am curious about the optical quality of this model from guys who might have used one in the field?

When I first had mine I really liked it but then I compared it to a cheap option in the Vanguard Endeavor HD, I had my Razor for 2 years and it is good but the Vanguard is equal if not a hair better at half the price. I sold my Razor 65 and kept the Vanguard.

The Razor did hold its value and after 2 seasons of use I sold it at a $15 loss, not sure it still holds this kind of value though. Now I'll save up for a swaro down the road but really doubt I ever upgrade the Vanguard, it has a lifetime warranty and really I'm very happy with it for what little I use my spotter.

I really like my vortex kabab 15x56 and use them way more, much easier to glass with both eyes and I get pretty good detail way out there. Anything within a mile and the 15's rock!

So my thought on the razor spotter is that it isn't worth the price even the discounted prices out there are too high.
