So last year I went and bought a diamondback 20-60x60 thinking that it would do the job on my backcountry mule deer hunts. I found that above 30 power, it was pretty much worthless. All I am looking to do with a spotter is to reach a little further when I can't make out what I am looking at with my Binos. 90% of my glassing will be with 10 x 42 binos on and off a tripod. I see a lot of recommendations for the little Razor but I still want a spotter that can handle 25-30 power. Being that this is at the top end of magnification for this scope, how does it fair at those magnifications? Will it handle 25-30 better than my diamondback that is 20-60?

Good morning,
Yes, the optical quality of the Razor between 25-30x will be superior to the same power of the Diamondback. Please keep in mind that the majority of scopes hit their sweet spot up to about 80-85% of their maximum power and then start to degrade. Obviously the higher quality of the optic will determine what that level of fall off is.

Well I pulled the trigger on the 50mm Razor and ordered 10x42 Viper HD's along with it through Elknut. Should be a big improvement over the Diamondbacks I've been using.

Good choice. I had a 20-60x80 diamondback and bought a 11-33 razor from cameraland. The diamondback was only "decent" to about 30-35x. The razor is impressive to my eyes all the way up, and it weighs less than my meopta 12x binos.

I'm picking up the same scope from a guy tomorrow. I to had a Diamondback but the clarity through my viper HDs was much better so I found myself using them. I wanted a lightweight scope to pack around chasing Barbary sheep here in NM.

you already bought them, but :) I've found my little 11-33 to be pretty impressive, especially considering its diminutive size and weight
