Vortex Impact 850 - FNG needs help

Anyone have any experience using the Vortex Impact 850? I'm on a budget and looking to get a rangefinder for this upcoming season. I know Vortex is renown for their warranty; my only concern with the 850 would be using it against dark backgrounds since it has a black display instead of red.

Any other rangefinders that have worked for you guys in the $200 price range?
