I'm in the market for a new scope for my custom savage 243. I've never had a scope with turrets and want to try one out. Something that I can get to 1000 yards with. Has anyone compared these two models?
I'm told the pst and HST are the same except that the pst has an illum. etched reticle vs wire in the HST. I am also really interested in the Burris veracity 3-15x50 and 4-20x50. It gets really good reviews as well but is a bit newer than the vortex models.
I really don't need an illuminated reticle but do want the best glass, tracking and reliability available between $500-$700.

Thanks

I have the burris veracity 3-15 on my .300win and all I can say is WOW! My buddy has a 4-16 pst and in my opinion the burris blows it out of the water.

Burris is the most underrated scope out there IMO. I have two of them with the C4 and custom turret. Great, tough, bright, cost effective scope.

I own both a PST and a HST and there is quite a bit of difference between the two besides illumination. The PST has a etched recital where the HST isn't. The quality of glass is also a lot better in the PST, and you really notice it when both scopes are side by side in the field. The HST will definitely get the job done though and I'd buy that scope again! It's been very reliable for me

Not the same models, but I have had the 4-16 HST for a few months and just recently received the Veracity 2-10 (non MAD knob version) in the mail. I'll try to remember to come back here to update once I get a chance to have them both out at the range. Initial impressions of the Veracity though are that it's built quality slightly edges out the HST.
