I've had the diamondbacks for about 5 years now. Survived all my trips as well as when I guided in Montana. Just this year things really started falling apart on them and started fogging up during deer season. (Would not say this is a vortex issue I just have been extremely hard on them) any ways they will be getting sent back to vortex this winter to get fixed up but I'm kind of debating if the vipers are much better than the diamondbacks or if I should stick with the d backs and use the money on a spotting scope

Thanks

I have the DB's myself and have looked through the Vipers and could not see any improvement. I would look at the Razors if you really want to step up in image quality.

I've looked through all 3 in the field quite a few times and I personally think the Viper is quite a step up from the Diamondback, I had a harder time distinguishing between the Viper and Razor myself.

I've had a Zeiss classic (over 15 yrs old) 10x40 that has had everything but being dragged behind the SxS done to them and are still working as well as when I bought them new, Hmmmmm .....

Personally the Vipers are better than the Diamondbacks, It really stands out in low light conditions. The glass quality, brightness and distortion are significantly better than the DBacks. IF you can I would suggest going out and comparing the two side by side.

i just recently got rid of my diamond backs and got some vipers. i think theyre better. diamonbacks are good but i really like the vipers.

Depends on what you need in your optics.....
Low light clarity
Edges of the viewing area as clear as the center
Eye relief

I think the Vipers are better, but the Razors are def better.
I have the Razor HD 10x42 binos, and the low grade vortex spotter before the diamondback came out, and the binos are better all across the lens, even though the spotter goes out further and sees distance better.
Just depends what you demand from your optics

this was exactly my experience as well, bought the Vipers

find a shop that has all three, I think it will be readily apparent the differences (or lack thereof)

What he said. I personally think there are much better options than the Diamondbacks in that price range.
