Vortex Diamondback vs Diamondback HD spotting scope

Does anyone have experience with both the original Diamondback spotting scope and the new Diamondback HD spotting scope? Is there much of an improvement with the new HD glass, and is it worth the extra weight?

Not sure what your budget is but you would be better off saving a little and finding an older model used Razor, they can be found for around $500.

It is better, yes. But I don't think the improvement is worth investing in a Diamondback HD to replace your original Diamondback if you have one. As stated above, save up and buy a discontinued Gen1 Razor for $700. Or buy a factory refurbished one from a place like Sierra.com. You'll be better off in the long run!
