Vortex Diamondback opinions?

i liked my diamondbacks a lot while i had them. if you use the crap out of them youll want to upgrade at some point, but they do great especially if your on a budget. id recommend buying a used set, i just sold some for 115 so look in those types of price ranges. they come up a lot on the archery talk forums. resale is low which confuses me, because of the warranty.

i upgraded the the vipers. everyone is going to say go buy a $1200 set of binos and you can do that at some other point in time.

10x42 Diamondbacks are excellent for the money. I was really impressed with them for only $150. However, DO NOT get any more magnification than 10x42. I have looked through the 12x50 diamondbacks and they are awful compared to the 10x. Just from my experience with them. I did upgrade to the Razors the next year. Talk about bang for your buck.

I've got two pair of Diamondback, 8x32 as backup for my Zeiss 10x42 main binos, and 8x50 for the boat. Excellent value, and I end up taking the 8x everywhere just because they are so light. You'll be happy with them, then upgrade when you can. In any case, enjoy them and good luck!

My experience as well. Couldn't even get the barrels close enough together to see through.

I have a pair of 10x42 diamondbacks and also a pair of Nikon Monarch 3s and I feel for the money the Nikons are a bit better than the Vortex. I own lots of Vortex products and feel that I send a lot of my optics back to them for service or repair a lot more than I should. Many other companies have great warranties as well so I'd explore your options first before you buy

The Dbacks are a pretty decent optic for the price. I see the OP has already bought them. For my eyes, they work great as a woods bino but I wouldn't want to sit and glass hours with them... I actually tried.

I think Vortex shot themselves in the foot with these, because once you look through these their other higher end binos just don't seem worth the extra cost. When I bought mine I compared them with the Viper HDs and I couldn't see paying the extra money... there wasn't that much of a difference.

Great point, I thought the same thing.
