Never have, this is my first go at it. I did order a size smaller as well. This current size I’m betting I could put 3 pairs of socks on and still have plenty of room so they do seem a tad big. But, I’ll know quickly when I put the size smaller on how those feel.
Got it.

What you might find is that the smaller ones feel better - perhaps hang onto the larger ones, wear the smaller ones for a year or so, and check your foot size periodically ... after a year, you might need the larger size.

To some of the posts above. I don’t think folks realize that you have a shoe size length and then an arch size length measurement as well. Get properly measured by someone who knows what they are doing.

You need to try out what works for landing on sizing. My feet measure at 10.5 but my arch measurement is for 12.5 size shoes.

For backpacking I error on having a bit of extra length so the feet can move freely a bit in the shoe on steep and slippery terrain. This is with both “approach shoes” and boots.

Nit all shoe sizes are the same across brands as most are aware.
