Any of the lucky people on the forums here ever been picked and participated? Maybe joined their friend that got picked? Seems kind of pointless draw. Crazy limited. But would be cool to get picked one day. Wondering what it’s like.

I drove through the EMZ this morning. Gorgeous country. No luck on the tag, of course, but I will make my annual donation as long as I can walk.

@cravingame That is one big, beautiful elk.

VA (Va. Beach) is my home state and I simply cannot wrap my two brain cells around the fact that VA has elk that, given the above picture, rival those in AZ where I live now.

I'm gobsmacked as our friends across The Pond say.

Good luck to all elk hunters in VA.

I grew up in VA Beach as well. I lived in Red Mill I think or Ocean Lakes. I don’t know. If you know where that was. I think it still a development. I don’t know. Long ago. But loved Virginia Beach and the perfect 4 seasons of weather. Jacksonville FL is a different 2 seasons type of weather.

Va beach here currently. It’s so odd to me to see elk in the va mountains. Like where do they go! Hahahaha. I’ve donated as well

Red Mill rings a bell for sure. I was raised in King's Grant and owned a home there too after I graduated ODU.

I left VB in '88 so been gone a long time. VB will always be home to me in many ways. I do miss it at times, but I also know the VB I left ain't the VB of 2026.

Congrats to all the winners....may you be lucky in your trips afield...and return safe. But like others have mentioned....I'll keep "donating" each year...along with the additional donation to SWVA along with RMEF...happy to do my small part in getting more elk on the mountain. Hopefully by the time I'm ready to retire there will be elk in NOVA!
