Hey guys I'm new here !

I'm buying a new xbolt2 in 300wsm for deer and moose hunting at 400yds max range.
I live in Canada and scope prices are insane. Here's the 3 choices:

Vortex viper hd 2-10x42mm for 879$
Leupold VX3HD 3.5-10x40mm for 839$
Burris Signature HD 3-15x44mm for 679$

Thx for helping me chose and if you have an other suggestion let me know :)

I’ve had the Leupold vx3i and never even made it to the bench. Once mounted I was unimpressed with low light capability so I bounced it.

Never owned Burris so I can’t say.

I’ve purchased two Viper Hd’s in 3-15x44. Low light is great. They track as much as I’ve used them. All controls are smooth. I love the reticle and that it’s illuminated. At times at the bench I wish it went to 18 or 20x, but I can live within the boundaries. My latest Viper ordered from opticsplanet (they suck by the way) was sold as new, but I’m almost positive it was a demo. The elevation turret turned in the locked position. Called Vortex just after I unboxed it , they said here’s a label, we’ll take care of it. They certainly did. Replaced the elevation mechanism, repurged the optic and I now have it on my Howa Grendel. Tracking just fine.

All that to say, from your list I’d go Vortex.

First thought, any friends just south of the Border that could buy a scope and you could go visit them and call it a belated Christmas gift?

I gather you have Night Force or Trijicon as options in the great white north, eh? I can only imagine the cost however.

Drop tests are what they are in the link provided in the post above. Enough of them done to establish trends and realities. Although not popular, reality is reality. I've been a big Leupold fan and have had great success with them. 3/3 one and done with the exact scope you listed out to 250 yards on deer in the the past couple years. And with 20 and 30-year-old Leupold Vari/VX scopes close to another 40 animals from pronghorn to Elk. But it's the truth they aren't built like they used to be.

Thanks for all the infos guys. My local hunting store have a Nightforce SHV in stock for 2049.99$.
This will push my budget to far and cause a divorce haha. Will try to look for the Trijicon. I'm not
familiar with this brand.

Not sure what's going on at your shop, but SHVs are +/- $1000 scopes.

Euro optic has 3-10x44mm for $985 right now. Credos can often be had for $600-900.

I found the burris you mention on sale and bought 4. Absolutely love them. Have them on a 6.5 cm, 243 and 30-06. Have hunted 2 seasons with them with no issues.
