So I have some Vap Elites on the way in .350 spine that are 28in long. I was hoping to use the new 75g SS TL inserts. But as you can see by the spine calculator they are slightly underspined.
Victory also has 50g aluminum TL inserts that according to the chart spines out correctly. Anyone been down this road???

What’s your DL can you cut off more of the arrow?
My draw length is 29.5, the 75g SS insert sleeves over the shaft 1/2in so that would out the usable arrow length to 27.5. My current arrows are 27 1/4 nock grove to carbon. So I'm not sure I could cut off a whole lot if any.

Gotcha, give it a shot you might get them to tune, my 300 RIPS show weak but tune great, you could put them in with the cool melt and if they don’t tune pull them and use the lighter ones or put them in 300’s

Not to get off topic, but the new outserts (both SS and Aluminum) are very nice.

With regards to playing with spine reaction, here are a couple things I have used in the past to refine the arrows spine reaction to the bow: 1) you can always add weight to the back of the arrow to effectively stiffen the spine response (heavier nocks, heavier vanes, longer wrap, bushing, etc.), 2) you can lower the poundage slightly, and 3) give them a shoot first - the calculator is using a straight bow speed and does not really account for the true speed of your bow with everything on the string. Don't get me wrong, you are on the cusp with the arrow and setup and the Victory calculator is pretty accurate, but I would still shoot a few with broadheads to see if I was okay with the SS outserts.

Post up your findings or any additional questions with the VAPs and/or outserts.

I tried the 350’s last year with the SS outsert don’t remember what it weighed off the top of my head. 28’ draw length 72lb realm. Shot field points fine, but couldn’t get it to tune with 100 fixed blades. I had to drop to the 300 spine. I dropped the VAP’s for the black eagle deep impacts and I’m much happier. Using their FOC 100 gr system, 300 spine arrow cut short right at 530 grains and they fly much better with BH’s than the VAPs

The new SS outserts are new for 2019, they are 75g the old style were 95's. I was able to get the 34g outserts out and 3 of the arrows I got were cracked so regardless I needed to cut them if at all possible. So after some measurements I should be able to cut them down to 27.25 which would put the outsert about 1/8 of an inch from my rest. It's cutting it damn close. But it's saving 3 arrows and making my spine better for my setup.

That sounds right, I thought they were 95 gn's. I killed a bull with them last year, but they just didnt hold up at all. I hope they do well for you. I would defintely try them with the BH's your planning to hunt with especially if they are fixed blades at distance.
