Vias or Verde?

I'm looking for something that will work as well in the mountains as it does in the treestand. I really had my mind set on the vias for elk hunting, but if the verde will work well for both applications I may go that route. So, which do you prefer and why? Is one pattern better than the other under different terrain/weather conditions (aspen, dark timber, open/rocky, sun, clouds, rain, etc.)?

Makes no difference. Both patterns are pretty good at breaking up your outline and if you think of it in black and white the colors of either pattern don't matter.

I mix and match top and bottom to break up the outline that much more.

Unless you're chasing turkey it doesn't matter all that much. You can argue micro vs macro, but neither is going to cover your scent better than the other.

I personally like verde better than vias just because of the look of the pattern. Although, They would both work well for just about anything, I would imagine.
I guess like jdeanp said, you could argue macro vs micro, such as the sitka forest vs open country. But at the end of the day, it's gonna be the guy inside the camo that really gets it done.

Verde if you are a turkey hunter, other than that it is personal preference.

I have both and like both. In my opinion I think verde might be a little more versatile.

Just 3 days ago I had 2 deer staring at me while I drew my bow from 20 yards without them actually seeing me. They caught the movement and we had a staredown for several minutes while I began experiencing fatigue. I was wearing VIAS and in a wooded area against a tree. This happened again last year with 2 deer . Almost same place same scenario. They could never figure out what was going on when I froze still and I took meat home. Last year I was about 10 yards away. I am a fan of VIAS for sure. Never used VERDE ?

I like ASAT and now buying some Vias. I like the more open and larger pattern of Vias. look at some of the grey/black/white pics of both and you can see Vias has more contrast.

The best camouflage is natural vegetation and outside of that, the best camouflage patterns are large and blocky. They're the best at disrupting outlines. Both the vias and the verde have these traits.

Someone already said it; deer and elk are color blind so it doesn't matter. Turkey and ducks are not, so that's something to consider.

I don't get too wrapped up in the pattern; I care more about the clothing protecting me from the elements. Look at Chuck Adams, that guy killed all kind of stuff with a bow wearing blue jeans, red plaid shirt and a black beanie.

The tone differences in grayscale for verde are not as much as vias. In other words verde has less contrast as the green and the gray are almost indiscernible Verde "looks" better to most hunters which is why they make it. In fact most camo is bought based on how it looks to the human eye. By far the best camo was predator fall brown as it has lots of contrast to break up your outline (even thought it's only 5 colors) but it didn't sell well because it didn't look as cool as realtree, or mossy oak (aka blob camo). Vias is based on that pattern, which is why I bought it.

A week or so ago I posted grayscale pics of both on the KUIU forum.
