I usually make stew with my hind quarter roasts but I'm branching out more and more. Onions, mushrooms, beef broth and sour cream at the end. Served over egg noodles. Winner!
I do the exact same thing! If you want to try a slight variation, add a small bit of tomato paste to the mixture. Gives it a nice flavor. I know it's not "traditional" but I'm always trying new stuff.
I’m jealous of you guys that can use mushrooms! I’ll make two batches one for the family for dinner and one for me and my hunting partner that I can freeze dry with all the goods! I second the tomato paste I snuck that in last time slightly different flavor but was good !
