Season's greetings, guys. I'm helping a buddy with scoping his new Tikka T3x in 6.5 Creed. He wants a variable scope with the low end around 2 or 3 power and the upper end around 10 to 15 power. So, a 2-10x or 2-12x, or 3-12x, etc. He won't be dialing turrets and glass clarity and low light performance are probably the most important factors. Budget is around $600, maybe up to $700. I've found the GPO Spectra 6 2-12x50 at CameraLand for $699, the Zeiss Conquest V4 in 3-12x44 for $620 at Red Hawk, and at a lower price, the Burris Signature HD in 3-15x44 for $419 (demo) at Euro Optic.

What are your thoughts on those scopes? Anything else in that budget range that would be recommended?

Thanks in advance!

How far does he plan on shooting? Is he dialing? Set and forget?

Edited to add: This is what I'd buy for a set and forget

Trijicon Huron, Credo, Accupoint

SWFA 3-9 or 3-15 can be found occasionally for around that price. I got my 3-9 for well under his budget on here from a super cool guy. More folks are trying to price gouge them now for $700+ unfortunately due to the insane demand

You're going to get a lot of votes for anything Trijicon. I've got a Huron 3-9 with duplex, it's a nice scope, wish the center of the plex was illuminated like the Nightforce SHV. The scopes with a higher mag range are nice too, I'm sure. I played with the GPO Passion 3-9 a bit a couple years ago, had two of them. No issues, no complaints, only sold them to get other stuff to play with. The Spectra should be better. Also had a couple of the Burris Sig HD 3-15, with the regular plex reticle. Actually liked the scope quite a bit, just not enough to keep them. I'd have preferred the power ring/ocular to be smaller and have better grip on it, it's huge and a bit slick. If they'd put the regular plex in the 2-10 model and illuminate it, I'd probably run a few of them as a lower cost option. I can't justify $1000+ scopes on everything, in my mind.

I posted Meopta MeoSport in a different thread.
It will dial reliably if you want to, the glass is clear, good reticle(much better than many of the FFP scopes I considered) and a 50mm objective is going to gather much more light than a 44.
Under $500 but availability is an issue.
I would buy another.

Same glass as the Huron. Plenty bright and crisp. No batteries needed for the illuminated reticle.
I’ve got 3 of them and have zero complaints.
