Vapor Barrier Socks / Sweaty Cold Feet

Boots are Crispi (Old verson of Skarvens) Insulated, Crispi Skarven Uninsulated, and Kenetrek Insulated.

The Crispis are her favorite. I believe the Kenetrek are much swampier.

What do you suggest if ditching the goretex?
How does she like the grand pardise (the discontinued insulated boots) vs the Skavren? Fit similar? I have the summits and the gran pardise but wore out my summits and need to replace them.

Geez I'll take a stab at answering your question.

RBHdesign makes a lot of vapor barrier gear, including socks. I use the socks.

But, vapor barrier is not going to make your feet dry--quite the opposite. Basically, they will make them sweat to a point and create a microclimate that allows them to stop sweating and stay warm. It can take some getting used to, but it does work.

You can replicate it for a test run with the bread bags. I got caught in a several inch snow storm with short boots a few years ago and had bread bags for the emergency. They worked fine to keep my feet warm in the walkout, even tho my boots got soaked.

Good luck!
