dido on the Valhalla Kryptek pants. I have the new 2013 pants in Highlander and olive green. I also have the Alios, but I prefer the new Valhallas over the Alios because of weight. I've worn the Valhalla's since the start and prefer the cut and stretch/give when ascending rugged terrain. My crack sweats a little in the Alios, but my taint smells better (according to my partners) in the Valhalla.

IMO, if you're taint is happy...it's all good brothers.

I get mine for free being Kryptek Elite Pro Staff, but I wouldn;t wear it if it didn't serve me in the field. Kuiu is overpriced period. But good gear nonetheless. I'm hangin with Kryptek because they're devoted to making the gear improved for the end customer over the long haul. That speaks volumes to me as a consumer. It is important to keep price point in mind for guys and gals who simply can;t throw down $300 bones for a pair of pants.

Just thought I would chime back in regarding the Kuiu pants.

I now have 10 days afield with them. Some scouting and the rest actually hunting. The highs have been between 93 and 103. I have beaten the hell out of some brush (especially this past weekend going after a buck) and have to say they are HIGHLY breathable and remove high amounts of sweat really fast. So fast, I never once felt sweat dripping down my legs. So far I have no issues getting snagged or rips.

I will point out that they do tend to "stain" very easy. The light colored brown gets dark from the dirt and brushing up against some of the dry brush where I hunt. I did rip a small hole in the mesh pocket (still don't know how it happend). They do pick up a small amount of burs and stickers, but most shed off while just walking around and going through brush and the rest come off very easy by hand. At first I was concerned with the "holes" in the pants that hunting in the dry dirt/dust I would get very dirty, but have not at all despite sitting in dirt and dead grass a lot over the 10 days.

last years valhalla fit perfect for me. im 5'8'' 160, lean muscle mass, 32x32, train hard. hope they did not mess with them too much. the lower waist cut is my preference in all pants. feel less constrictive and allow for natural movement. the material was light and cool, dried quick, but pilled big time as in massive little balls. butch hooked me up with this years to replace mine from last year, all though they have not arrived to compare.

I can comment on the Tiburon pants, but unfortunately I haven't had a chance to get into the Kryptek's yet. I've had my Tiburon's for about a month now and absolutely love them. Great early season pant. I'm a stockier guy with large quads and calves (let's just say I wintered pretty good). I've ripped the ass end and crotch out of my share of pants over the years. I was a touch nervous about ordering a 34, but I didn't want saggy crotch syndrome either. Pleased to say, these pants fit really nice - borderline perfect. Not at all baggy or saggy, and not at all restrictive while squatting, bending over, climbing, etc... I really appreciate the breathability and venting. I've had them on a couple training hikes, wore them antelope scouting in 90 degree heat, and I did a couple miles in and out on a hike-in fly-fishing trip in CO last weekend. The Tiburon pants dried really fast when we got pounded by an afternoon boomer and after wading in them fishing. They're not thick enough to really provide any protection against thorny, thick brush, but for most semi-arid mountain terrain in early season, they're awesome! I'll report back on durability as I get some more miles and abuse logged in them. They're going to get plenty because I'll probably wear them about 90% of the time while hunting until mid to late September.

The closest pants I've used to the Tiburon are the First Lite Kanab pant. The Kanab is a great pant that I really like also. It has some stretch and is a touch heavier than the Tiburon. I used to wear the Scent Lok Savannah pant a lot also. It's similar in weight to the Kanab, but a touch thicker and less dense material. They had good stretch, but not as durable or breathable as the KUIU or First Lite. I will definitely keep my First Lite pants for cooler days or if I want to layer because they're cut a little more generous than the KUIU, but they flex/stretch less also. The suspenders on the Kanab are a big help for keeping them up. Worn back to back, the First Lite actually held less scent than my admittedly older scent lok savannah pants. Gotta love wool!

Occasionally feel a little itch in the Kanab, but pretty dang comfy. Given a choice on an August through mid September hunt, I'll definitely pack both my KUIU Tiburons and First Lite Kanabs every time. If I'm backpacking and gotta pick one, the Tiburon gets the nod - far lighter and more packable.
