Va-5 Window Mount

I did the exact same thing! Same window clamp and everything. Except I left the handle full length and pointed it forward. Now I've got a VA-5 on my tripod and window mount with TY-70 or TY-50 plates on everything--super slick. I actually sold my Outdoorsmans window mount and heads to go to the VA-5. Only thing I've missed is having the pistol grip for the window mount in order to pan levelly across the horizon (I have to adjust tilt of the clamp on my window now).

I did the same thing but with an Oben base, love the setup, now both of my tripods and window mount all use the same bases. Just need to cut a 70 down to fit the base of my outdoorsman adapter better. I’d like a base the same size as the Bino adapters base so I can just leave it mounted all the time and be able to slip it in the Bino harness.

I used the Hammers clamp. The clamp slot does not open as wide as the others. Here is a pic of my offset plate and clamp before I swapped the Manfrotto head for the sirui....
