I got the Selengas (80%carbon) a week ago.
so far not as soft on the back end as my vx but stabile, fairly fast and quiet.

I think I prefer the Vx.…….but I need to shoot them more.
.
Any updates? Im kicking around putting an ilf together...and gobi or selenga are on my radar.

I've been shooting my xl SX+ on both a 17" satori and a WF21. Draw is very nice on both out to my draw (30.5"). I've got a ok tune with both setups, but honestly it's been a frustrating process. That is probably more me than the bows. I've made some form changes (I was overdrawing quite a bit) since I got them and had to start over from the tune I originally had.

To be honest, I've had to use my lateral limb adjustment more than I would like on a pair of limbs that cost this much.

Like Beendare said they are exceptionally quiet. Speed is above average, but not anywhere near the border's I've had, or the VX+ (troubles with those mentioned in a previous post further up).

I'm still not sure which set-up I'll end up hunting with. Just spent a small fortune on more shafts and components to try and get dialed in.

Ive been shooting them on my Stalker riser but can’t get the arrows I normally use to tune. Im going to swap them over to my TT riser today.

I cant really tell on arrow speed yet but smooth and quiet. They shoot more like a conventional limb than my Vx. Not as soft at FD as my Vx. I’m starting to think I should’ve just picked up another set of the VX while I can.
Can you post a pic of that outfit? I'm considering that exact setup.

I have uureg longs on my satori riser. I had to use 2 different scales to double check the weight. They are so smooth it seemed lighter than it actually was.

@Beendare glad you are mostly unscathed. Reminds me of my hex 7.5s delaminating when I was at full draw. Lucky I wear glasses as the nock hit them and nocked them right off my face. Happened to catch it all on slomo video. I only had a scratch on my cheek under my eye.

I have a pair of rc woods on the way to make sure I have a back up bow set up. Too many limb issues over the years (multiple mfgs all “top end” limbs) to not have something else ready. I’ve scratched my itch on that. The more experience I get the more I lean towards durability and forgiveness.

I wanted to bring this old thread up and find out if anyone hunts with the SX80??

I have a pair yet they seem more fragile than other limbs. Though I have not hunted with any carbon limbs. This is my first ILF setup and I have them on a 19” Satori.

Does anyone have real world field experience they care to share?? Do they hold up to bumps and dings and various hunting conditions?

Thanks all

I have been hunting with Selengas since last year. Hot, cold, and everything in between. They have been bomb proof and I don’t take it easy on them. No damage at all and they are still going strong.

I have a set of selengas 50# and a set of gobie 45#, i have shot both extensively and this is my opinion. The gobie are my go to limb and feel like 40 lb but are making 50 on my setup i have and will continue to hunt with them. I plan to take them to alaska with me this fall. The selengas feel so much heavier and feel like a wood core limb with the stack they have, i have them tuned down to be the same weight and put them on a longer riser just to compare apples to apples. At the end of the day i find the 80/20 blend very stiff but it could just be my limbs and i have only had my hands on one set. Regardless i will be getting rid of them and just getting a backup pair of gobi. Would be really nice if uuka made the gobi in 50#. This is just my experience so take it with a grain of salt.

I'll be hunting with selengas this year. Thousands of shots thus far this summer. The finish leaves a bit to be desired but its not really that important for a mono carbon limb anyway.
