Just wondering if anybody on here has had success in the early spring hunt doing spot and stock in the limited entry units. Finally have enough points to considering pulling a tag. I've hunted and taken a lot of bears in Idaho over bait so doing the summer hunt doesn't intrigue me too much. I've considered the route to higher a guide and do hounds but not sure i'm interested in spending 5k for it. I don't have a lot of experience chasing bears in Utah, but am familiar in bear habits and habitat. I've been looking into doing a book cliffs hunt but was wondering if anybody had any previous experience! Thanks!

I'm in same position as you.
My cousin had a spring tag for the Eastern side of state and ended up running into guys who had pursuit tags and got him on a good bear.
I'm hesitant to use that as a strategy.
I think if you put in some good effort you would have success on the spring hunt without dogs.
