Have you guys seen utahs plan to charge non residents 3710.00 for a damn elk tag?
I don't have anything vested in Utah, so it makes no difference to me.
As always let the non residents take care of your economy.

It is how Utah works, the legislature has to approve price increases. The doubling across the board makes it so the commission doesn't keep having to go back to the legislature for price increases. Highly doubt that the prices will be increased that much in one fell swoop, but they have the potential in the next few years and this is not for 2025 tags.

It seems fair to charge out of state hunters whatever their state charges for out of state tags. If people from Utah had to fork out over 3k to hunt elk in any other state maybe they would lower prices or just stay in state. Either way would be a win.

The only way I would ever hunt Utah as a NR would be for a premium trophy unit elk tag. And for that, ya.......I'd pay that for the right unit. But I've never applied for a Utah tag.

I get it but...sure think they'd have helped themselves to feather this in over 5 years...and keep those die-hards addicted with a manageable bump each year.

What's a full beef processed and wrapped cost nowadays anyway?

They probably will make gradual increases every few years. This way they don't have to go back to the legislature every year to get another $100 increase or whatever. Highly doubt that we will see 100% increase across the board next year.
