Yep, its all just statistical noise at the end of the day, the scoreboard is what matters. Heck the argument could be made that CAN offense wasn't anywhere close to as efficient as the USA's with the shot count and offensive possession time, but its just statistical noise.
Everybody knew the OT rules before the tournament. Nobody, especially Canadians, sure weren't complaining about OT when Marner scored the OT winner for Team CAN against Czechia. Its just another lousy excuse for people to whine about why the USA won. Even at 5-on-5 OT, I still saw the USA pulling it out whether that was a "lucky" bounce or not, they played their asses off while several of "the greatest players on earth" were nowhere to be found all game for Canada.
My takeaway from all of it: When does the world of hockey start to realize that mcdavid isn't the player/winner that he is cracked up to be?
