Haha. No, not really. You just keep harping on bad bounces. I was talking about roster construction, player matchups, and game strategy. Which is where I believe Canada came up just short. The roster wasn’t constructed for 3x3 OT

That was a scary Canada roster. They did pour it on the US for big chunks of the game just couldn't get it in the net. That's hockey.

Was nice to see Boldy, Faber, and Q hughes get another win over Mackinnon, Makar, and Toews last night in the NHL. That was a game i was excited for but was surprised how ho hum it felt compared to the olympics.

Instagram has been great for listening to the Syrupeans whine about the game. A lot of tears and I’m not talking figuratively.

Had the US lost I would have said great run just came up short. Oh well, I’m going to trim some cases and start organizing my reloading boxes. Life would go on.

The one thing that came out of this is the playoffs will be sportier because the media will play it up as rivalries and revenge. I’m predicting another Cup residing in USA. Leafs and Oilers fans should start making their MAID reservations now .

I'm on record that I'm glad Canadians are being humbled it's been long due and frustrating living here. I agree the whining is embarrassing too.

Jokes about MAID are low class though and show your character. Coming up to 100,000 people murdered by their own government and the so called medical system.

It’s all the elbows up crowd pulling this BS. It’s pretty disgusting the hit pieces being written about Mathews and others going to the White House like they should have not gone in protest because of their TDS.

I understand the argument about being outplayed but another part of me says that the scoreboard is how that is determined. Canada had more shots on goal, and more possession time, but that does not directly impact score. That is simply a statistic, no different than other statistics. It's like saying the USA outplayed Canada by having more saves. I realize there is more to it than that but ultimately it is pucks in the net that determines who won, everything else is just static noise that is interesting and provides talking points but doesn't matter at the end of the game.

Agree that I don't like the 3x3 format for OT. It's not the same game when you take half the players off the ice. IT would be like determining the winner of a baseball game by having a home run derby instead of extra innings.

Yep, its all just statistical noise at the end of the day, the scoreboard is what matters. Heck the argument could be made that CAN offense wasn't anywhere close to as efficient as the USA's with the shot count and offensive possession time, but its just statistical noise.

Everybody knew the OT rules before the tournament. Nobody, especially Canadians, sure weren't complaining about OT when Marner scored the OT winner for Team CAN against Czechia. Its just another lousy excuse for people to whine about why the USA won. Even at 5-on-5 OT, I still saw the USA pulling it out whether that was a "lucky" bounce or not, they played their asses off while several of "the greatest players on earth" were nowhere to be found all game for Canada.

My takeaway from all of it: When does the world of hockey start to realize that mcdavid isn't the player/winner that he is cracked up to be?
